beastly things

so yesterday i worked a full day shift from 12 to 9pm, and i was a champ. highlight of the day was these two adorable 8 year old girls. they were the best of friends while their moms shopped, and they both grabbed matching scarfs and wrapped them around their heads like turbans, and they grabbed big sunglasses and stared at eachother in the mirror. they popped one hip out as they placed their sassy hands on their waist and one girl looked to the other and said, "OMG, we are soo darling!" it was like watching two little mini ANNA WINTOURS in the making. i couldnt stop smiling.

so after work, i headed over to barnes and noble again. and i literally DESTROYED the crafts isle, grabbing all types of jewelry making books, and then got distracted with the architecture section, and then moved over to the photography/fashion section and found a little book that was WAY out of place and it caught my attention. it was called BEASTS! and it looked like an old brown medieval book, i open it up and its just FILLED with endless collections of artists works with all types of beastly things. and every picture had a name and description about it. it seemed like every picture had some type historical/mythological background to it. i was literally tranced by it from the beginning. it was all mixed from pictures of clay made beasts, to japanese art. the whole book just reminded me of a dark and beautiful CHAD VANGAALEN music video. it was all too wonderful!

and i look at the back of the book and it said 99cents!??!? i went crazzy, but then realized at the top left had corner it said $34. so i connected the dots and realized it was 34.99. sneak lil bitches. how dumb would i have looked if i went up to the cashier and asked, is this REALLY 99cents?? but ya they syked me, they syked me GOOD. anyways, i wish i would have come across this book when i was at school, cause i literally would have made such a great collection inspired by beasts, that would have been OUT OF THIS WORLD! darn. oh well im just gonna make another collection on my own inspired by it.
