Flat me up

I've been busy, like always. Whats new? When long weeks drain me, I usually stay away from heels and if you are like me and lack height, then that's a problem. But thanks to my flatforms, I can happily add that height and still be comfortable! It's all about flatforms this summer for me. When it's too hot and too crazy of a day to wear heels, I'll be sporting my flatty-formsies. I have built up my lil collection and have a variety! All under $30! I'm the kind of person who prefers to blabber and brag about a good bargain rather than a "relevent" label that I may have purchased. That's just how I do. My strategy is: find a good bargain so you have more to spend. Best. Way. To. Live.
WEARING:
Goodwill Dress $7
U.O. Hat $10

My Own Jewelry designs
These GOJANE black sparkly flatforms were only $15
Prada Knockoffs! Only $25
I obviously had to get a second pair in another color. $15
Coral. Flatforms. YES. PLEASE. $20

Fringin Around

Wearing all black on a sunny day isn't usually ma thing but I couldn't wait to wear my new fringe spanish style skirt. I bought it at a goodwill by my place along with the best vintage I have ever come across at a goodwill. I spent my whole day at work twirling around and having people constantly ask me if I am going out dancing later that night. I wish. I've got latin feva now!

I WALK IN STILTS

You remember what I was saying about my 70s/tribal obsession in the last post? Well this is what I meant. My unnecessariness escalate to an all time high yesterday. It's like I've come to a crossroads where the 70s, Iris Apfel, and African culture all somehow intermix with each other and create a wonder of so many elements. I kept thinking Iris Apfel probably dressed like this when she was my age. If you don't know by now, Iris Apfel is my icon!
As for my outfit goodies, I wore all of the newest editions to my closet in one complete outfit. I foolishly WISELY got these Kimichi Blue platforms that I soon discovered are the most dangerous shoes I own. I may have severely hurt my ankle walking in these bitches but I am determined to master the art of walking in heels that have 5 inch platforms. As for my beautiful kimono/robe whatever you may call, I found it at a thrift shop. For 3 bucks!
Oh and don't mind my ridiculous amounts of jewelry. How can this kimono go without statement jewelry?

WEARING: Thrifted kimono, Kimichi Blue Platforms, Dee Lux sunglasses and jewelry from Anthro, Forever21, vintage and My own Designs. Orange clutch from wholesale-orders.

I put a spell on you

Before I go on a rant, I want all my followers/readers/friends to know that Google is going to eliminate google friend connect this year. Tragic, I know. So from now on if you want to follow my blog, follow me through BLOGLOVIN.

Onto bleaker things.
It got all gloomy yesterday, and I'm looking out my window right now and it's as if Cali forgot all about it cause the sun is back out. psh. So yesterday, I found this pathway behind a freeway all deserted and shiet. The trail went on for a while so I don't know where it led to, but I had never seen it in that part of town. Must be new. But I jumped the fence and explored and it was raining and I didn't mind.

Pink Snakes

When the animal print trend took over, I wanted to live on another planet. I absolutely loathed the trend. There is always one trend each one of us is destined to dislike for all eternity. I just don't think I can work animal prints, but I like it on verrryy few fashionistas that know how to make it classy(its hard to make it look classy). The print just reminds me of hookers and I'm not talking about in a Pretty Woman way. One animal print item I've had in my closet for years has been this snake print belt. That was the closest I was coming to an animal print item. BUT when I saw these snake print pants with leather trims at H&M for $15, I had to try them on! I absolutely love them. Sooo to everyone, I advice you don't completely shut out a trend cause you might have a weak spot for it. I did, and after I purchased these pants I went over to Zara and bought the snake print open toed tassel heels that THE MAN REPELLER famously wore on her blog. Now I have multiple snake print items in my closet, including my wallet. But I wouldn't go so far to say I'm gonna purchase a leopard print item in the near future. OH NO NO NO NO NO HONAY.

WEARING: H&M pants, UO hat, antique snake spine necklace, vintage top, Forever21 heels, Target belt.

Hat Girl

It finally rained! But now the sun has taken back its place and Cali is back to being Cali. I'm glad though cause I haven't been paying as much attention to my hat tower as I should be. I have a confession, I'm kind of a hat addict. I have a big hat collection so I had to wear one today. obviously. I recently splurged at Urban when they had their additional 50% off sale and bought 2 hats. One gray one for fall/winter and this white one for hot sunny days. Another thing I have been excessively buying are pants. yes, pants. All kinds. Printed, bright, high waisted, cropped, loose etc. I bought these printed pants at Zara last week and I've worn them about 10 times because they are the most comfortable pants Ive ever owned!

WEARING: Anthropologie sweater, UO hat, Zara pants, Steve Madden platforms and Bolivian Jewelry.

Kahlo

I went to the Flea Market with my family this past sunday. I went to stock up on my jewelry supplies. On my search for my fav raw crystal seller, I stumbled upon a rack of clothing and found this skirt. I'm so glad I purchased it, it's a new favorite of mine. The colors are bold, the condition is perfect and the embroidery is stunning. It inspired me to dress like Frida, a toned down and modernized version of her of course. I always tend to go back to cultural inspired garb. Being ethnic is what I do best!

In other news, I've got my supplies so I've been busy at work finishing some amazing pieces. Check out the necklaces I'm wearing in the photos cause they are going to go up on my etsy store soon. Anddd I gotta get these prepared for the RAW artists showcase I'm doing in Feb. woot woot.
