Photo Diary: Winter is coming

It rained today! All day! I was the happiest person. I ran out on my break and stood in the rain with my arms out, just taking all that shit in. I waited for this day to come since summer started and now I finally feel like myself. I always feel my best in the fall.
Now that I have my own camera, I have been attempting to use it as much as I can. Here are a couple shots from the past two days. First one is obviously me being excited about the colder weather. Annnd the rest are from the amazing show I went to at the Greek just yesterday to see Grizzly Bear. That venue itself is magical, with the illuminated trees hovering over you as the sounds from the stage vibrate through your soul. I went with my friend Devon, and we were overly satisfied with the whole show. There were numerous times when we would simultaneously look at each other and approve of the many favorites they decided to play for us. The guys of Grizzly Bear put on an amazing show. I even feel weird referring to them as grizzly bear, because they are all such great individuals who blew me away, and I feel like I have to commend them on their talents one by one. Christopher, the drummer was a charismatic gem, Ed was such a unique soul, Daniel's voice translated so well at the venue, and Chris could easily be a one man show with his endless talents. One main factor that made the show even greater were the jelly looking lanterns dancing all over the stage. And the harmonies...the flipping harmonies man. Those men know how to sound good together, there was such a great balance between all of them and the greatest part is that they all have tremendous voices on their own. Everyone shined in their own way and I love these guys in a way I never expected to.
Just give their music a listen if you haven't yet. Oh and Happy Friday everyone!

Until next time

Science + art

Bjork's Biophilia show! It beats anything any other artist has done. She's combined this whole Idea of Science and has created it into art and into her music. She says she's always been fascinated with science and it started with National Geographic asking if they could analyze her DNA for an experiment and found interesting connections with her Icelandic DNA. She then collaborated with Yves Sant Laurent, Apple, and my favorite collab of hers was with Drew Berry all for her Biophilia multimedia project/live show.

Revival tour!

I stomped, I yelled, I jumped...I went crazy at revival tour. I am so glad I wore my ankle boots cause it was perfect for all my hick foot stomping. The whole show from start to finish was a dream. Yea, the L.A. folk were assholes and wanted to tear each other apart but all the people around me seemed to be very happy people. I think we were the very few people in the crowd that were enjoying it for what it was and didn't care if there was an overly enthusiastic girl behind us. I appreciated the excitement, it was a monumental day and if you are gonna pay 50 bucks to stand there to tap your foot then giet the hell out! sorry for the rant. anywaysss I developed my photos!
So many good moments. Alexander crowd surfing. Old crow medicine show, edward sharpe and mumford all playing together for the finale, making new friends and experiencing those moments when all you could really do was close your eyes and sing along while the 5000 people around you clap together with the same rhythm. m.a.g.i.c.a.l.

dear Rodrigo, Fabrizio and Binki,

you are my favorite people. that threesome of wonderful names is too much too love. your happiness in this video makes my heart shine and makes me appreciate the beach a little more.

P.S. my sister and I just decided to visit Rio, Brazil in the near future. so much traveling plans, it makes me happy. I'm officially buying my airfare tickets to argentina and bolivia today for a 3 week trip and it was decided yesterday that I'll be taking a trip to Mexico as well this summer to check out the ruins with my tour guide of a friend, and savvy cultural anthropologist, EELA!
