Baby it's you

Listen up! And listen to this cause I can't stop swayin to it, its the only way to move to this song.

I am the first to admit that my blog content for the last couple of weeks has been "asi asi" but with good reason! I am currently preparing to be in Orange County's RAW ARTISTS showcase. The art director contacted me for my jewelry designs and we got to talking and I am now one of the artists being featured. So that explains my lack of outfit posts cause I am at home the majority of the time looking like a crazy bum creating pieces that I myself can't stop obsessing over. And that brings up another topic. I am saving my new jewelry pieces for the showcase, so I won't release them online till after FEB 17TH. If you are in the Orange County area, the event is at the YOST THEATRE, starts at 8pm, 21 and up and its friday, feb 17th. The event is gonna be a blast, there are gonna be photographers, press, dj's, bands, fashion designers and more. Stop by to get a sneak peek and a chance to be among the first to purchase my jewelry.

Oh hold up, I'm not done. I am also working on a collab with a photographer friend, Anthony. He's currently working towards building a site for his photography because he's got a vast collection of photos that need to be shown on the blogosphere. So we're gonna work on some projects together. Let our two minds collide and create wonderful things. So keep checking back cause it's going to be featured on my blog very soon.
Here is a taste of Anthony's work:

GRAY MATTERS

Misha Taylor is one talented photographer. This spread is brilliant! And its all in black and white. I have been very monochromatic in my outfits lately, It's the gloomy weather. I feel like I would be doing Portland wrong if I wore neons in this rainy weather.

inspiration: Synchrodogs

Cloaked from head to toe was the first thing I noticed when I was flipping through Synchrodogs' flickr. An amazing Ukranian duo that uses crappy cameras to capture eery photographs. I'm madly obsessed with Tania Shcheglova and Roman Nove's aesthetic, I cant get enough of them! I came across their collection through a photo website and instantly fell in love. All the photos I was saving from that website onto my desktop all turned out to be Synchrodogs' work, completely unintentional. So I looked into them some more and havent stopped looking at their photos. I found their habit of covering their models from head to toe so aesthetically pleasing, its just a unique way to create that as their "style" while always achieving an eery look to the photos. Anyways, I am inspired with their style and the images they capture, its just gripping to my eyes. They're on the rise right now so keep an eye on them. Take a look at them, the photos just speak from themselves.

window light

I'm definitely more of a winter girl, even though I've grown up in california my whole life. but I think its my inner east coast girl that craves it cause I was born in Virginia. I do admit sunny days in california can be much appreciated by me if im in the right mood. I have a decently large space with an enormous window thats the width of my room so I can't complain if the sunlight tends to sneak up on me and light up my whole room. like I said, IF im in the mood then I bask in it. I usually place my sewing table in front of my window, play some rachel portman, or dario marianelli and sew anything that im up for. I remember I spent my whole spring break last year making floral pillows with buckwheat filling and lil installations of lavender filled bags inside them. I'm an old lady.

so I've definitely built a natural liking for windows recently. It's amazing what a combination of windows, sunlight and blinds can do to an image. Look at these photos, it just proves my point even further that windows can be magical if its the right time of day.
