A new season

Summer is coming to a sweet sweet end. Mine was busy, fun, hot, unbearable, crazy and memorable. One thing I wish I did more was skateboard and spend more time in Venice. But I have many hot California days left to do that. I hope you all enjoyed your summer too. One inspo that I couldn't get enough of was a style that has clashed too many styles together that many people hate it. I've learned to love it. It's time to embrace the 90s again, and tie dye, and skateboarding, and holographic sunglasses, and yes plaid shirts tied around your waist. Never thought I would say that but it is now cool to me. Beach goth, surfer punk etc. call it whatever you may but I love it all. I'm a believer! It's the whole persona really. The "rebel" look, the laid back 90s vibes and the "I dont give a fuck if I'm wearing tie dye AND plaid together" attitude. And the rainbow hair. it's all so unorganized and trashy that it works.

Schools out forever

Summer in California is nothing new, this weather is all year round for us. But I am appreciating the sun more than I used to. It's been making me a lazy ass and I'm ok with that. I have been sitting at home watching Purple Rain, House Party and Poison Ivy all back to back while wearing this cali lazy kid get up. Dont Judge.
IF I were going out in this lovely weather, I would wear nothing but 1970s outfits. Tavi Gevinson's got it all right, she knows how to pull on my heart strings. This shoot she did reminded me of why I even began to obsess with the 70s. Why I ritually watched dazed and confused so much when I was a tween that I tried to live like everyday was the last day of school. The 70s have been the backbone of my wardrobe lately. Most people who have known me for years know that I am not a jean pants type of girl, but people change. I feel like now, my different array of dramatically flared jeans have become a major staple in my wardrobe. Platforms and Flared Jeans are where its at people.

Flat me up

I've been busy, like always. Whats new? When long weeks drain me, I usually stay away from heels and if you are like me and lack height, then that's a problem. But thanks to my flatforms, I can happily add that height and still be comfortable! It's all about flatforms this summer for me. When it's too hot and too crazy of a day to wear heels, I'll be sporting my flatty-formsies. I have built up my lil collection and have a variety! All under $30! I'm the kind of person who prefers to blabber and brag about a good bargain rather than a "relevent" label that I may have purchased. That's just how I do. My strategy is: find a good bargain so you have more to spend. Best. Way. To. Live.
WEARING:

Hooligan Lifestyle

The city of Angels has been treating me well. My life has not stopped for one minute and I don't know when my body is gonna say it's had enough. I've worked full days at work and come home to get ready to go out into the city that same night. I went to the Bloc Party at Hudson a couple of weeks ago and was intoxicated from 2pm till 1am. It was packed, hot and great. That was the kick off for Summer in the city. Since then, I have been trying to enjoy the sun and summer as much as possible. Pool parties, dancing with binki shapiro, the roosevelt, hiking to the hollywood sign, watching spanish boys grind on their guitars and new friends being made anywhere and everywhere. I don't remember LA being this entertaining when I lived here a couple of years ago, but I'm glad I'm back and L.A. is glad I'm back too.

Sun inspirations

I just reconnected with pinterest a couple of days ago. I had a little break from it cause I was getting unnecessary. But I am back with full force and this is a compilation of my latest pins. I'm sure you will notice my aesthetic, and what I'll be sporting these sunny days. I'm obviously wearing an african inspired maxi right now. Being all ethnic and shit while I write this post. My main goal to dressing on these upcoming hot days are comfort but still looking incredibly fabulous at the same time. I've collected a number of amazing printed kaftans the past couple of months and they've become my best friends. I wear them all day and don't mind it at all. Just put on some killer bold jewelry(bring out that Iris in you)and put on some snazzy shoes and you are set. Comfortable and still fabulous. It's a hard to thing to pull off but I figured it out and I'm loving every minute of it. If you know me well, then this is a big leap for me cause comfort was never considered whenever I put on my outfits, but now it's kind of become somewhat important? well, Im getting there. Enjoy your memorial day! love you all.

Summer niighhtts

A couple of years ago, I was one of those kill joys when it was summer time. But people can change, OKAY! I am proud to say I am a summer lover. All I've been thinking about is what I'll be doing and what I'll be wearing on hot sunny days in cali. For me, its gonna be all about BRIGHT colors, mixing exotic prints, 70s, tie dyes, and of course my recent love for kaftans. So much love for them that I've made three in the past two days. I'll be wearing them ALL.SUMMER. Here are all my summer pinterest pins. These photos really encapsulate what I'll be doing all spring/summer.
